Photographer and journalist Santi Carneri presents his exhibition “Carga máxima”, showcasing the winning project of the 4th Photography Portfolio Competition at Fotomatón Festival. The exhibition will be on view from September 19 to October 18, 2026, in the auditorium hall of the Centro Cultural La Lonja in Orihuela. Through photography, Carneri turns the elevator into the setting for a project focusing on bodies, shared space, and the physical limits of a place designed for transit. The title “Carga máxima” (Maximum Load) directly connects with the characteristics of the space itself, opening up diverse interpretations around capacity, proximity, and coexistence. The work reflects Carneri's career as a documentary photographer and journalist dedicated to social issues, the environment, and human rights. His work has appeared in international outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, Associated Press, and El País. Visiting hours: Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from 10:00 to 14:00, and Tuesday to Saturday from 16:00 to 19:00.
