On Sunday, September 27, La Mata will hold its traditional paella contest complete with bouncy castles, music, a foam party, and a DJ. Starting at 10:00, the event is designed for enjoying time together with family and friends. The paella competition is one of the most eagerly anticipated culinary highlights of the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities of La Mata. Throughout the morning, paellas take center stage in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere that invites locals and visitors to share a meal and celebrate traditional cuisine. The program also features activities for all ages throughout much of the day. The contest is part of the festivities in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, running in La Mata from September 12 to October 7, 2026.
