"A View from the Bridge" is one of the great contemporary tragedies of 20th-century theatre—an intense story of jealousy, honour, and family conflicts that remains powerfully relevant today. The performance will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 8:00 PM at the Teatro Principal in Alicante. Written by acclaimed American playwright Arthur Miller, the play transports us to 1950s Brooklyn, where Eddie Carbone, an Italian-American longshoreman, lives in apparent stability with his family until the arrival of two undocumented immigrants disrupts their lives. The romance that blossoms between one of them and young Catherine sparks a spiral of emotional tension, repressed desire, and conflicting loyalties that inevitably leads to a tragic conclusion. The work invites reflection on morality, justice, and the boundaries of love and possessiveness. This version, adapted by Eduardo Galán and directed by Javier Molina, offers a contemporary staging of remarkable dramatic intensity, showcasing the power of the text and stellar acting performances.
