Juan Antonio López Padilla explores six millennia of history to explain how communities settled along the coast lived and worked. The lecture will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 20:00 at the Sociedad Cultural Casino de Torrevieja. The presentation, titled "Our Fishermen, Farmers, and Sailors: Six Millennia Facing the Sea," examines the evolution of coastal populations and their close relationship with the marine environment. MARQ archaeologist Juan Antonio López Padilla will discuss the way of life and labor of those who inhabited these lands over thousands of years. The session offers a deep dive into the history of fishermen, farmers, and sailors, as well as the transformations experienced by these communities over time. This talk opens the 18th Lecture Series "Torrevieja and the Sea," organized by the Ars Creatio Cultural Association to promote heritage, history, and knowledge of the Mediterranean.
